Hoburne Naish, New Forest: Review

#Staycation #summerholidays #familytravel

WITH it’s stunning beach walks and indulgent forest back drop, Hoburne Naish really was the country escape we were looking for.

Only a 2-3 hour drive from London, our trusty @Tom-tom Sat-Nav guided us through the short-cuts to get us to our mini-break in minimal time – which all parents know what that means – minimal moaning and the ‘are we nearly there yet?’ echoes from the backseat.

Friendly staff greeted us on our night time arrival – and even escorted us by foot right outside our trendy holiday home for the weekend.

The ultra-modern executive cottage did not disappoint – and we could park right outside our home which made unpacking so much easier.

When travelling with kids, and of course enjoying a touch of luxury when on our hols, what we loved about the place was the ‘home from home’ feeling.

As soon as you entered, you passed the neat utility room which was equipped with a washing machine and dryer.

The cosy pad had a huge living room with a calming cream and white pallet.

The kitchen was the piece de resistance – music to my ears – as it’s obviously my favourite room in any house.

The ultra modern kitchen space which sprawled out into the dining room had a snazzy fridge with a water dispenser – perfect for those sizzling temperatures.

It also had a trendy hob and giant extractor – and a separate oven placed higher up so you didn’t have to bend down to get your meals out.

The 2 kids bedrooms were so cosy with twin beds and room for a travel cot – which Hoburne will provide if you phone up in advance.

One of these rooms opened up into the lush bathroom – which for those of you that love cleanliness – will adore the seals around the toilets which look like they have never been used before as they are so shiny and clean.

The main bedroom had a large double bed and a sweet en suite – with an impressive power shower to wake you up for your day at Peppa Pig world at Paulton’s Park nearby.

Travelling with a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old, we found it was the simple things they enjoy the most when it comes to getaways.

So they could not contain their excitement to have a choice of 3 swimming pools to go wild in.

The outdoor pool encapsulated the real party atmosphere – with inflatables- balls and fun floats for them to play with.

In the sunshine, it’s fantastic and will have you thinking you were off in the Mediterranean somewhere.

A coastal walk is an absolute must at Hoburne.

With a private path that takes you straight to the seafront, what’s not to love about the adventurous feel.

Navigating down the path was fun, as you got to engulf yourself in the wild as you headed down through the woods until you met the sea.

No stranger to a gorgeous coast, having grown up by the sea, the quaint and idyllic beach offered a perfect view across to the Isle of Wight.

It was great for families and for dogs to enjoy the seashore too running along the stretch.

Best to leave your pushchairs behind for this one because of the terrain, though tots enjoy the walk up the giant steps on the way back up.

The evening entertainment was a mixed bag – with a steel pan band booked in for one evening to play at the outdoor pool party for a tropical theme.

Kids loved the reps putting on a disco for them too and playing a few games before bedtime too.

The fab touch was the community feel with the shops and vibrant restaurants on site.

After dinner at one of the restaurants or cafes on site, kids would head to the outdoor playground to play football, and have a run around the adventure playground with swings, slides, climbing frames and a playhouse – perfect for make-believe.

Great way to get them tired before bed, and sleep through the night ready for the next big adventure for the day ahead.

So many fabulous memories made from our stay at Hoburne Naish, and we left feeling refreshed and well rested from our country escape.
