Give the gift of a magical experience this Christmas – London’s top 3 choices with #showbizmama

Winter Solstice Afternoon Tea at Emmeline’s, Conrad Hotel, London

Hidden off the beaten track, just a stone’s throw away from the hustle bustle of London Victoria’s theatre land and the Christmas shoppers ,lies the Conrad hotel.

Upon entry staff bend over backwards to help you feel comfortable as you nestle into a chez long, offering you a drink and a sneak peak of the menu – if in case like me – you’re expecting and the menu needs a little tweaking for your palette.

Whisked straight to your table, with the elegant spa-like background music playing in the background and the soft purple lighting you feel relaxed instantly as the waiter temps you with an extensive list of both exotic and traditional teas to warm you up and accompany your elegant feast.

The Winter Solstice Afternoon Tea showcases an assortment of savoury creations – the classic turkey, sage and Parma ham sausage rolls are festively fantastic, alongside the delicate finger sandwiches and fig & blue cheese crostini. No cream tea is complete without scones and unique selection of wintery roasted pecan scones, topped off with exquisite Devonshire clotted cream are to die for. For mums to be like me, I was able to substitute the stunning smoked salmon dish for classic egg and cress finger sandwiches, which my bump enjoyed as much as I did, judging from instant flutter of kicks!

But the piece de resistance would have to be the selection of sweet delicacies – and the green apple and blackberry mousse and white forest gateaux garnished with a Valrhona chocolate wreath, are literally too good to eat. It’s like a work of art before you, so a treat for the eyes and the mouth.

This touch of winter continues this season, so whether it’s a romantic afternoon you’re planning, a mother and daughter day, a baby shower, or a Christmas gathering with the girls, you can’t go wrong with this hidden treasure at Conrad hotel.

Winter Solstice Afternoon Tea is £64 per person with free flowing Champagne, £57.50 with one glass of champagne or £49 per person without champagne.
