Getting Award Season ready with the delicious new vegan menu from Busaba: Food review

With just one week to go before the biggest event in the TV diary the National TV Awards, Showbizmama was invited to sample the brand new Vegan Weeping Tiger Dish at Busaba, St Christopher’s place.

Following the success of Busaba’s Soyamari, a delicious vegan take on their famous calamari, Busaba has an exciting new special.
‘Vegan Weeping Tiger Jay’ (£15.50) – which instead of the chicken I normally have as a go-to, is made with a soya wonder-product ‘Oumph!’ marinated in a tasty triple cooked sauce with French beans, spring onion, Chinese chives and red chilli.

In short – it tasted super sexy. For a meat and chicken lover like myself, it takes a lot to sway me to the vegan food trend, but it was awesome. Always ahead in the vegan game, Busaba was the first restaurant to offer ‘Oumph!’ in the UK and the ingredient is completely plant-based and as well as being free from gluten, dairy and nuts.

Busaba’s menu is full of other vegan treats, the fried fish, Sriracha Ho Fun Noodles(£10.95) wok-fried mushroom, red pepper, baby spinach and flat rice noodles seasoned with sweet chilli, soy and ginger sauce and Thai Aubergine Curry(£11.45) wok-fried Thai and purple aubergines poached in a fragrant yellow curry, balanced with coconut milk, sweet Thai basil, fresh chilli and coriander – to die for! ?

‘Vegan Weeping Tiger Jay’ will be available for a month launch on the 16th January, at all 13 Busaba restaurants.
