Getting to Cornwall with Tomtom and Peugeot 5008 SUV : What to see and what to do along the way to Trevornick, Holywell Bay

Driving in style:

We were loaned a smart new Peugeot – which could squeeze all five of us in, plus our luggage, very easilly.
The Peugeot 5008 is a seven-seater SUV which was spacious and modern, and really comfortable – especially if you want to drop your seat back for a cheeky snooze.
Can’t say I know loads about cars, but as a mum-of-two with a techy loving hubby, this just fitted the bill when it came to it’s technological specs.
The in-built tomtom satnav and reverse features were brilliant – it’s in realtime so you can see exactly what you are doing if you are reversing into a tight spot – and moving forward for that matter.
THE DAB radio was a treat, with stations that had us bopping along nicely creating a perfect soundtrack for our journey.
It felt incredibly safe driving in this automatic with child safety features.Navigating through tight country roads, as well as the sprawling motorway was fine too.
Really loved the boot space the most. You can pull down the extra seats to make it a seven seater or put the seats up just as you need – especially if you are doing a big grocery shop.
It had that all important glam feel to it too – that all Showbizmama’s love.

St Ives is a 40 minute drive away and well worth a visit to check out the surfer’s paradise. You can jazz up your route with tomtom road trips and the go pro satnav shows up all the car parks – we even got one that took us right to the ocean. We couldn’t make it up! And believe me, you need to know where all the car parks are in St Ives as it is a tourist hotspot, incredibly busy – and here’s why…
With it’s quaint winding narrow roads and home to the ‘oldest cornish pasty shop in the world’ this beauiful seaside town is one not to miss.

Using TomTom Road Trips was a fantastic bonus as it allowed us to check out some cool and visually captivating places on our way to Cornwall – so it wasn’t all just a long stretch of motorway.
Anyone with kids will know how restless they can get – so it’s great to take a break somewhere a bit scenic.

Mama Me-Time at the Tranquility Spa:
Bit of pampering? I think so…
Had to plan this one around my baby’s nap time – so if you can slip away for a sensational massage at the Tranquility spa that’s based right by the pool, then I highly recommend it – while someone watches the baby, obvs!
I had the one hour full body massage and drifted off as masseause worked on my shoulders and relaxed she released the tension as those knots were slowly worked away.

Fabulous food:
Woody’s at Trevornick was our number one favourite for home-cooked delicious food. It has a rustic pub feel to it, it was great for families and even canines were allowed too! The menu was full of traditional home-made burgers, fresh steaks, delicious pastas and for the big eaters – a plate of ribs. The kids loved it too with lasagne, fish and chips and scrumptious deserts of the day including chocolate brownies.

There’s also a hot dog restaurant and pizza bar for grabbing quick meals.
