How the stars got their red carpet groove on and kept in shape this awards season #diet #bodygoals #boom! #lighterlifefast ?

The likes of Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett have been ruling the red carpet this awards season – flying the flag for hot mamas around the world.
Keeping in shape for awards season can be an absolute nightmare – particularly as it falls just after Christmas.
And if you’re like me and hate to throw away the excess food and even nibble on your kid’s left-overs, then you’re in trouble!
So I was lucky enough to meet the stunning Jennifer Metcalfe and super hot mum Denise Welch who let me into their secret for always looking camera ready.
Hollyoaks beauty Jen is all about LighterLife Fast 5:2, which means she can eat a balanced diet 5 days of the week, and on her 2 ‘fast’ days she selects from the delicious menu from LighterLife; 3-4 products that brings her calorie intake between 600-800 calories.
‘You can even go to the gym on that, and you won’t feel hungry,’ the chirpy star told me.
‘Yeah, right’ was my initial thought. Have you seen how much I can put away. #Africangenes. I had to give it a try for myself.

I’m all about diet food that doesn’t taste like you’re on a diet – and the Nut fudge bars and Crispy Peanut ones literally took me to heaven.
And did they pass the gym test? They certainly did. After having one for breakfast, and doing 30minutes on the treadmill I still felt full of energy and was getting all the nutrients I needed too.

Being a busy mum on the go like several of us, I don’t really have time to prepare fancy lunches so the Vanilla and Strawberry shakes did the job as I dashed about from office to red carpet.
Before leaving my desk for the National TV Awards, I whipped up the Fragrant Thai Noodles with Lemongrass Fastpot, after Denise Welch recommended it to me as her fave.
Wow. Is all I can say. I was expecting something gloopy and bland but was pleasantly surprised at the taste explosion in this small but filling pot. All you do is add boiling hot water, and be sure to stir really well, then you’re good to go.
This kept me full for a couple of hours, and just as I was leaving the red carpet I was getting a bit peckish, so packed a spare Chocolate Hazelnut meal replacement bar.
Boom! That was me done – my first fast day.
It wasn’t easy, I’m not going to lie. But it takes perseverance and the results are worth it, if like me your weight yo-yos, it’s s good way to keep it in check.
My mum on the other hand is obsessed with the Fastpack vegetable soup, which she said tasted fabulous and not like diet food at all.
There’s also the Fastpack Spagetti Bolognese you can prepare from home very quickly.
So with all the diets on the market, why have our TV favourites gone for LighterLife Fast?
For my girl-on-the-go Jen, she’s all about the base…and lots of treble.
She said: ‘I’m embracing my curves and no matter how slim I get I’ll never loose these hips. I’ve got cellulite too – when you have a bum like mine you often do. But I don’t let it bother me.
So I’ve been doing this for a while now and I love the results. I’ve been keeping the weight off which is fab! You don’t get hungry and it’s delicious which for me is the main thing as I need to keep my energy up for work.
We swerve the canteen at Hollyoaks because it’s all chips and burgers – so I’m getting few of us on it too.’
Meanwhile ex Coronation Street star Denise has never looked back since incorporating the plan into her daily life.
Denise told me: ‘I’m finally in control of my body. I feel sexy approaching 60 and I’m looking and feeling the healthiest I’ve ever been.
‘I don’t miss my partying days one bit. This is for me the best way to keep my weight in check and I’m really happy.’ Denise, whose married to doting toyboy Lincoln Townley winked: ‘My husband has to keep up with me now!’
